PASTA PARTY

This was the pasta party held by Team in Training Saturday night before the marathon. It was so awesome. All the TNT staff and coaches from around the country formed a line and cheered us as we walked into the ballroom. It was incredible. Travis is also a TNT staffer. He is over Louisiana and Mississippi. He has the wig on and the Saints shirt on. Then there is Natalie and Trey. How funny are they?? Once we sat down, they began the program. John Bingham, the penguin, spoke. He was AWESOME. He has a column in Runner's World - truly an inspiration. We also heard the story from the mother of 2 children - both died of leukemia. It was such an incredible story and there was not a dry eye in the place. We were all crying and it made us again remember what we were running for. I can't begin to describe the feeling I had listening to her story. Her son's name was Keegan - he died six months after her sister. "We run because that is just what we do." The phrase of the night!
