Memorial Day!!

Memorial Day really couldn't have been more perfect. The weather, the food and the company - it was all great! When mom married Earl - we were introduced to a huge extended family. So most of Earl's kids came over. Also, Trey, Kim, Austin and Cate came over too. So it really was the first time that everybody was together. It was a lot of fun. A long day in the sun but certainly a great one! Also it was a good time to tell everybody about my new job!! Yes, I'll be starting a new job June 24!!!!!!!!! I am the new public relations director for the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership!! I will still continue my photography business and will continue freelancing for the N'side Sun. God is good!!

The catfish sloppy joe

If you are a regular reader of this blog - then you know I think Courtney is the best cook in the whole world - I'm not kidding. So Sunday night - the Milans had us over to try out a new sandwich (Courtney got the idea from Oprah) It's the catfish sloppy joe - I'm serious when I say that it was SOOOOOO Awesome. She also made us some wonderful dessert.. Okay Court - so please please please open up something where others can share in the experience -

Sat. nite

Saturday night -we met up with Jana, Leslie and Travis at Little Tokyo - it was a little late for the kids to be out so they were out of control - especially Nate. It was still a good time. I would have gotten more photos but my battery ran out!! Good times!!

Tennis tournament

Trey also played in a tennis tournament this weekend. He played mixed doubles with Jana. Now Jana usually plays with her hubby - Chad but when we had dinner with them last weekend - they agreed b/c Chad was going out of town that Jana and Trey should play. Anyway, they ended up losing that first match but won 8.0 mixed consolation. I was busy chasing kids Saturday so I didn't get to watch a lot of their match. But from what I hear, they did great - especially Sunday! I went there on Sunday after church and had to leave b/c Nate bumped his head big time. Leslie and Travis also played. They were in the 8.0 finals but lost - I think. I was busy with Nate - so I forgot. Sorry Leslie .. also Leslie and Jana played 3.5 doubles. They were out in that hot sun all day long - Leslie is a BIG fan of the blog!! We loved hanging out with them this weekend!!

Magnolia Meltdown

Saturday was the St. Dominic Magnolia Meltdown 5K and one-mile fun run. It was so much fun - well not when I was running up that big hill!! Ouch. Anyway, the run benefited "Just Have a Ball." The idea came from a 10-year old and a 6 year-old.. Bill and Denise Furr's kids - Wilson and Hartwell. Anyway, they thought it would be good to give balls to all the kids in Ms to fight obesity. Isn't that a great idea? There are a couple of photos of them up above. So Bekah ran the one-mile fun run and she finished. She got a ball as her medal! Isn't that great?? Carrie Ainsworth also ran the 5K - GREAT JOB CARRIE!! Also I took a photo with Bill up above. He is the one on the right with me - over 70 years old and running more marathons than the average marathoner and finishing way before me!! We are headed to San Diego this weekend for another TNT marathon. He is my running partner but I doubt I'll be able to keep up with him!

Bekah graduates!!

Last night was Bekah's four year old graduation and the Cobblestone Day School's end of the year program. The 3 and 4 year olds performed. They also offer ballet at the school so Miriam took it this year. They also did a ballet routine for us. It was all very cute! Courtney and I sat by eachother and talked about how crazy we would be at their highschool graduation especially at Medical School graduation!!!!!!!!!!!!!
