An uninvited guest - er... RON!

Before I post photos of the party - I have to explain this. We were all going about our business at Nate's "ball" party. It was at mom's - then somebody yells - "Jenny, there's a rat." I really thought they were kidding or that it was just a small mouse - but there it was - a HUGE dead RAT in the front yard... Patrice said, "You should post it on the blog and label it "An uninvited guest." But my brother said, "No - you should say, 'An uninvited guest - er... RON?" If you know anything about me - then you know who Ron is - GROSS - mom's crazy X husband!! YUCK - I don't know which is worse - Ron or the Rat... Anyway, Earl picked the rat by the tail and threw it in the garbage - the adults were more afraid and grossed out then the kids - I really think the kids thought it was cool!! Especially the boys.. Renee put her hand over Earl's shirt.. It really was funny! I will now post more photos of the party - but I thought I must post this first!

Sal and Mookies

Big Dad and Susie came in town this weekend to celebrate Nate's 2 year bday. We took them to Sal and Mookies Friday night. We were sitting outside to begin with and then a rain storm came along. They quickly moved us inside! Nate and Bekah, of course, put on a show at the restaurant - Nate again followed Bekah's lead!

Tennis Tennis Tennis

Saturday Trey played in a tennis tournament at Ridgeland Tennis Center. He played 8.0 mixed doubles with Julie Jackson and they won the first match but lost the second one - :( They both played great though!! And in that heat!! It would have made me sick. I haven't played tennis in so long but I was so excited to see Jillian and Alisha - we were on the same team - years ago!! :) Bekah and Nate really behaved while we watched Trey and Julie! I was so proud of them - especially Nate! And look at Bekah - she is no longer scared of characters as you can see in the photo - have we come a long way or what? And we saw Travis and sweet Leslie (WHO IS PREGNANT!! WOOHOO! CONGRATS LESLIE AND TRAVIS) but she was very weak after she played in that heat. She recovered quickly! We are so excited for them!! Oh and on another note - big news - guess who peed in the poty for the first time at daycare yesterday!! GO NATE!! WOOHOO! What a big boy!!

More Kindergarten photos!!

I had to post more photos of Bekah at school. The first ones were on Thursday when I picked her up in carpool line for the first time. She will stay for the Outback program (after school program) But Thursday was special so I picked her up and we had lunch and she told me all about her first day. Then the next couple were Friday when I took her through the carpool line for the first time (the day before we walked her in). All is well in the world of Kindergarten so far. She brought home homework Monday night! She had to learn her address and phone number and Genesis 1:1! She is doing great!!

BEKAH'S FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN

WOW - what a morning!! I am a wreck people!! This was harder than I thought it would be! Trey, Nate and I dropped off Bekah this morning for her first day of Kindergarten. I didn't think it would be so hard. I didn't cry until I was on my way to work and stopped off to get some coffee - all of a sudden a tear rolled down my face - I wasn't expecting that.. My baby girl - my 6.2 pound baby girl is such a big girl now. I remember how worried I was when she was born b/c she was so little and I sware if one more person told me how little she was - I thought I was going to ... well anyway, Bekah is petite but that doesn't bother her at all. She walked in her room like a big girl and sat in her seat. She was so happy to be there. When she walked in, she saw Cathy Hayne (the principal) and said, "Hey, Ms Principal." It was great. She is such a sweetheart and I am so lucky to have such a funny, beautiful daughter - and smart, smart, smart. Okay - can you tell I am a PROUD mother.. I have to say this too - Trey was emotional and you know he is not that type - I am usually the crybaby. But he said, which I thought was so sweet, "Your first day of kindergarten - before you know it, I'll be walking you down the aisle." He wasn't kidding. Oh and as we were getting ready this morning Bekah said she was "SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED!" Here are some photos of the morning - I have video of her walking in to class - of course my battery runs out right as she is going into class - but thank goodness for the flip video! :) And I'll take more photos of her when I go pick her up this afternoon! Nate was laughing the whole way to her school by the way. He was too cute and he only has a few more years until we do this all over again!

PREVIEW

I'm not kidding when I said that I honestly thought Bekah's school started Friday. I was wrong - it starts tomorrow! I love my new job in so many ways but this is one of the many reasons - they were so understanding when I told them I had to get ready for school. So I took Bekah to get her new shoes and we got everything ready for tomorrow - Bekah wanted to try her new uniform on for tomorrow. We also taped the carpool number to the car and put the sticker on the back of the minivan!! I love it! Nate even tried on her bag! Now b/c Bekah is petite (much like her Mumu) She is going to have some trouble with her uniform being a tad bit big b/c they don't make them much smaller!! She looks ADORABLE!!

WE MEET BEKAH'S TEACHER - MS MASON

Bekah starts school TOMORROW! This whole time I was thinking it was Friday until I went to the ice cream social to meet her new teachers. I felt like an idiot!! Oh well - what else is new?? HAHA! Anyway these are Bekah's new teachers!! Don't they look so sweet!! Mrs. Mason is her teacher (in the green) and Mrs Brunson is the assistant teacher (in white). They were both so sweet and great and Bekah took to them!! I'm so excited!!

And the news gets even better!! GUESS WHO IS IN BEKAH'S CLASS??? MILES!! YAY!! We were very excited to learn that they would be in the same class. I mean who would have thought when we met Betsy and Michael in our birthing class at Baptist (when we were pregnant with Bekah and Miles) that they would be in the same class at the same school? How crazy is that? We are so so so so excited!

So at Covenant - they have an after school program that Bekah will go to called Outback. They offer the kids activities and Bekah has signed up for Karate and Cheerleading!! She is very excited! The lady in pink is her new cheerleading teacher...

So this is a funny - Bekah just watched Matilda (the movie) for the first time the other day. In that movie (if you haven't seen it), there is an ugly, mean principal and she is horrible to the children. So Bekah has been asking me all week about the principal at her new school. She was very concerned that she would be mean and I kept reassuring her that this was not the case. So today when we got to the school I found the principal and she gave Bekah a great big hug (she is in the black) Let me tell you how relieved Bekah was!!! :)
