Happy Birthday Miles!!

Happy Birthday Miles! Saturday morning we went over to Betsy and Michael's house for Miles 5th bday party. It really is hard to believe we have known the Dennys for more than five years now. We met Betsy and Michael at baby class at Baptist when we were prenant with Miles and Bekah. Trey took all of these photos - good job Trey!!

Out of towners

So we went to Cock of the Walk Friday night with the Milans. Of course, I start taking photos - check out Trey's new shirt - he, according to Stu, looks like he should be on a New Jersey beach. Trey also cracked me up when he said, "Everywhere we go people think we are out of towners b/c you are always taking photos!"

Austin's baseball game

Last week we went to Austin's baseball game. Unfortunately Austin's team lost but we had a great time. As you can see Nate wanted to get on the field! He loves to play ball! I also noticed how competitive baseball can be at age 12. I don't remember it sports being that way but maybe I just didn't notice! Although I do recall playing a competitive basketball game or two in the sixth grade!

The LAKE

While I was running, Trey took Bekah and Nate to see Grammy and Bill at Lake Martin in Alabama. Trey's friend, Thomas Blake, came for a visit. He is working on his PhD at Auburn - so it's just about 30 minutes from the Lake. From what I understand, they all had a great time. Trey said every time they got on the boat though - the kids just fell asleep. Bekah looks like she put on a show and Nate was a grump b/c he didn't have his momma - or so that is what Trey said! I don't know though - in some of these photos, he looks like he is having a great time!! I'm sorry I missed this trip but it looks like everybody had a blast - even Nate!! :)

MEANWHILE...........

Trey, Bekah and Nate went to the lake to visit Grammy and Bill. From what I heard, they had a great time. Trey even took some photos that I will post when I get them uploaded! I will say that I really missed my babies (and yes, that includes Trey..haha!)

Good times!!

So we were done and we all went to the Victory Party. We were all hurting - bad. Great trip! I encourage everybody to run at least one marathon in their lifetime!!

FINISHED!!

What a great time! Again I never lost sight of why I was running this marathon. The stories I heard at the pasta party, wearing the ribbons - I also noticed this time so many other people were running for other causes too. Everybody was out there running for someone or something - even if it was to show they could do it for themselves. Running a marathon is like nothing you will ever experience - even watching one - mom said she just enjoyed the experience so much! It was great to hug her at the halfway mark. I stopped for a moment and she handed me a power gel. She had her sign and cowbell!! It was great! Another amazing experience! Chicago, Mississippi, Nashville and now San Diego - they've all been great and each experience has been completely different! This one I did it in 4:51 - not quite as good as Nashville but faster than Mississippi! The course was pretty hard, but it was beautiful!

And here we go!

Here is our lovely group! The girls showing their muscles are sisters from Forest! Talk about hilarious - they were soooo funny!! They were afraid they were not going to finish the marathon.. but they did! Bill and I ran a lot of the way together - he cramped up a little but he still managed to come in fourth in his age division!!

PIZZA

We went out to eat with some of the TNT people Saturday night. It was a little different because the pasta party we went to was at 1 p.m. So we had to find another place to do some carb loading that night. We went to the Old Town district and found an Italian restaurant. It was good! Jen is in the photo with mom and me. She is a new TNT staffer and this was her first trip by herself - and let me tell you they do A LOT!! So she did an excellent job!! WAY TO GO JEN!!
